Erik ten Hag hails Marcus Rashford as one of the best in the world

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag had nothing but praise for Marcus Rashford following the team’s 2-0 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League.

The Red Devils got back on the winning track with a victory at Elland Road, but it wasn’t easy. They finally scored their first goal in the 80th minute. Alejandro Garnacho scored the game’s final goal in the 85th minute. Rashford extended his hot scoring streak with a thunderous header.

After the game, Ten Hag praised Rashford’s contribution and said that he is currently one of Europe’s top forwards. While talking to the club’s official website, the Dutch boss said:

“He is definitely one of them. I was convinced [by him] from the first moment. I was really excited to work with him. I thought I could get more out of him.”

“He has so many skills, such high potential, and I think that can be even more. When he works well, he will score even more goals because he can score with his right, his left, and with his head.”

The Dutch coach continued by saying the 25-year-old has a lot of potentials and believes that the English star can eventually score even more goals for the Red Devils.

With 21 goals scored so far this season, Rashford is one goal away from having his best scoring year for the team. The United Academy graduate is undeniably in the best shape of his life.

Ten Hag pushed Rashford to set a season-high of 35 goals before the Leeds match. He should easily reach that total given his recent form since the World Cup.

Rashford’s current contract with the club ends this summer, and therefore, the club needs to make sure that other foreign clubs keep a distance from their star asset.

At present, he is being monitored by Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. To secure his long-term future, United may have to offer him an improved contract.
