Manchester United are supposedly on the verge of signing their first player under Erik ten Hag after negotiating a deal with Stevenage for Elyh Harrison, a 16-year-old wonderkid.
Erik Ten Hag was named United’s new manager last month and will begin his new job after the current Eredivisie season ends in the coming weeks. The 52-year-old has signed a deal that runs until the summer of 2025, with a one-year extension option, and will be tasked with turning around United’s fortunes on and off the field.
In the coming months, Ten Hag is expected to supervise a significant purge of United’s underperforming team, but the club’s transfer business appears to have begun before the Dutchman’s official arrival.
United have agreed a six-figure fee with Stevenage to bring Harrison to Old Trafford, according to The Mirror.
This season, the teen goalkeeper has shined in the League Two side’s under-18 team and is seen as a promising future player.
Elyh Harrison made quick progress at Lamex and was invited to practise with the senior team at the age of 15, but he will now join a star-studded goalkeeping lineup at Old Trafford.

In recent years, United has established a practise of signing promising goalkeepers. In January 2020, they completed a similar deal for Nathan Bishop, a former Southend youngster who impressed on loan at Stevenage’s League Two opponents Mansfield this season.
While Harrison has been identified as a future star, United will likely have to make a decision on the long-term future of academy graduate Dean Henderson sooner rather than later.
