Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hinted that African winger Amad Diallo could be handed more opportunities this season.
The youngster had the chance to feature in the starting XI against Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday. However, the gaffer turned towards Omori Forson for the right wing spot.
Diallo has played just 46 minutes for United this season owing to a pre-season knee injury. Out of these, he was given 10 mins against the Cottagers and he fared well.
Although he couldn’t help the home side grab all three points, it did justify the fact that the manager preferred the Ivory Coast attacker over Antony.

Ten Hag was asked about his plans for the 21-year-old and whether he would be given more game time.
The Dutchman replied by saying (as quoted by the Sun):
“Amad looks very sharp. I think it was a good sub [performance] from him. I think that’s good for the future. We need them because we have our problems in the frontline.”
“So it’s about them, to show they can contribute to this team, that they can have an end product but also to show liability.”
Could Diallo get more minutes against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup?
Looking at the present scenario, the fans would have a clear view that the manager will either choose Forson or Diallo against FA Cup rivals Forest this week.
It is still an important game for the latter, since he can justify his presence in the squad by putting up a quality show for Ten Hag’s side.
Man United had a chance to send the African star to Sunderland on loan. However, they have put their trust on the young winger and decided to let him stay at Old Trafford this season.

It’s up to the player now to turn these chances in his favour.
Hojlund’s return may hamper his game time since Garnacho would then be preferred to move to his preferred right wing spot.
Hence, Diallo should make sure that he leaves an impression on Ten Hag and solidly his spot in the team. The manager might prefer to use him more in the FA Cup matches.
