Erik ten Hag Issues Transfer Window Update Amid Ongoing Takeover Saga

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reassured fans that funds are available for the club to strengthen their squad despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding ownership.

The Glazer family, who currently own the club, initiated a “strategic review” for a potential takeover six months ago, with bids submitted by the Ineos Group and Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

Sheikh Jassim recently made an increased offer for 100% ownership of the club, which would also clear its debts and establish a separate fund for both the club and the community.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has expressed his desire to bring in a new striker and midfielder during the transfer window, while also acknowledging the potential need for additional defenders and a goalkeeper.

When questioned about the urgency of resolving the ownership situation, Ten Hag responded by stating that he believes funds are available for the club to make necessary signings, indicating that the ownership matter does not necessarily need an immediate resolution.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the Dutch boss said:

“I don’t know. For me, it is about finance and that there is money available to do the right things. But first of all, we have to be in the Champions League and the top four and that is our focus.”

“We do our job in the background and we are working hard, but, for now, it is about games, getting into the Champions League and the FA Cup.”

The Glazers are busy finalizing the takeover deal but there has been no serious update from the club. United’s transfer plans could change drastically depending on whether they get a new owner or the current owners continue to stay at the club.

The fans want the Qataris to purchase 100% of the club and help the club to reach the pinnacle of World football.

Shiekh Jassim would be ready to splash an enormous amount of money in reshaping the whole squad. This would help Ten Hag in getting his desired options this summer.

However, there is great concern among the supporters regarding Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s interest in the club.

There is a fear that he may replicate the issues created by the Glazers. The UK’s second wealthiest man has been unable to lift Nice, the French club, that he has taken over.

It remains to be seen whether the American owners end up selling the club to the ideal owner or continue to stay beyond the summer.

Ultimately it will have a huge influence on Ten Hag’s plans to sign quality players.
