Brazilian midfielder Casemiro had to be substituted during Manchester United’s recent match against Fulham due to a clash of heads with Fulham player Harrison Reed.
The 32-year-old was instantly given medical attention after complains of blood pouring from his head. He was immediately replaced by Scott McTominay in the 53rd minute.
The former Real Madrid star was given the nod to feature in the starting XI even after being substituted at half-time in their previous game against Luton. However, even in this match he was substituted due to unfortunate circumstances.
Despite Casemiro needing to be replaced, Fulham star Reed was able to continue playing.
Erik ten Hag has now given an update on the head injury and whether it is as a sign of concern for the team.
While talking to the club’s official website, the Dutch boss said:
“I don’t know if it’s concussion but it’s definitely head-to-head. He had to come off, so we have to speak with the doctor, and the medical team, to see how he’s doing. He couldn’t continue the game. We have all seen that. We had to take him off and, hopefully, he’s better by tomorrow.”
Speaking about the injury, we believe that the player would be fine to continue in the next game.
However, the major talking point has been a controversial incident featuring Casemiro at half-time. The player was seen exchanging shirts with rival player Rodrigo Muniz.

It wouldn’t be the most ideal thing to do as the team were unable to win the match at their home turf.
The South American star is no stranger to mid-game jersey swaps, as he had previously exchanged shirts with former teammate Luka Modric during a World Cup quarter-final against Croatia in 2022.
The supporters would have mixed reactions to this case, and it remains to be seen whether Roy Keane has a verdict on this matter.
The former captain is not a fan of United players swapping shirts with their opponents in a game that they lost.
