Erik ten Hag reveals Manchester United’s January transfer plans

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed that the board is looking at ways to strengthen the squad during the January transfer window. The club is still improving the team and working behind the scenes, according to the Dutch manager.

Ten Hag joined United towards the end of the previous campaign. The Dutch manager was able to sign six players last summer as the management wanted to provide him with a better squad. The Red Devils must, however, put forth more effort going forward.

In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag has revealed that the United board are continually looking to improve the team. This means that would be looking to explore moves in the January transfer market.

The gaffer said:

“At this moment, also last week, we focus on the games. In the background, we always continue a process, working on the squad, so we want to have top sport culture and you see and examine how you can improve and that’s what we will do.”

The majority of United’s signings during the most recent transfer window have been a complete success for the Red Devils. All of the new players have contributed to the club, with the exception of Martin Dubravka, who hasn’t yet played.

Ten Hag has had faith in Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen since the beginning of the campaign. And the two have made a difference in the team by showcasing their skills.

Luke Shaw has faced stiff competition from Tyrell Malacia for a spot in the starting lineup. The 27-year-old seemed to have been inspired by the competition to reach his peak performance. Antony and Casemiro, two Brazilian teammates, have also had an impact on the team with their enthusiasm and mindset. In recent weeks, the pair have played key roles in pivotal situations for us.

United has performed well in the first transfer window under the Dutch manager, but traditionally, the team has been lacklustre in the market. But now is the perfect time for the Red Devils to capitalise on their recent market success.
