Donny Van de Beek is set to receive a major second chance at Manchester United as his former manager Erik Ten Hag has decided to keep him in his plans.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Ten Hag views the Dutch midfielder as an important part of his squad and will not send him on loan.
Donny Van de Been had joined United in the summer of 2020, but he has been unable to express his skills in front of the Old Trafford crowd. Former managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick used to play Bruno Fernandes ahead of the Dutch midfielder.
Even a defensive midfield role was out of his hands, as both the managers preferred to play a pivot with Scott McTominay and Fred at the center of the field. Donny was sent on loan to Everton but that was not what he desired and ever since the entire loan spell has been underwhelming for him.

Erik ten Hag had worked with Van de Beek during their time at Ajax where they won the Eredivisie title and domestic cup. They also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League after years.
The signing of Van dr Beek should have been a statement one for United but it looks like they didn’t plan the way they should be using him and that led to his snubbing by both the managers.
However, Ten Hag has made him an important player in his plans and will be using him straight away. This could be a major U-turn in the 25-year-old midfielder’s United career.
The club has already started its mass exodus with the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Eric Bailly, and Axel Tuanzebe, all set to leave the club this month.
Also, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Phil Jones, and Dean Henderson could be the next in line to head towards the exit door. Along with Van de Beek, Ten Hag has targeted to use another of his former player in Frenkie de Jong.
But the Barcelona midfielder is still happy to stay in La Liga and it would not be easy to convince him to leave the club, especially as he desires Champions League football.
If in case they fail to sign him, United could look for a cheaper alternative in Brentford’s Christian Eriksen.
