Borussia Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland is a key target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Manchester United had unsuccessfully made a prolonged approach for Haaland’s Dortmund teammate, Jadon Sancho last summer, however, pricing concerns over signing the England international forward had meant that the Old Trafford outfit had pulled out of the race to land Sancho’s signature.
New reports suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be tempted to make a renewed effort to raid Dortmund this summer, but would instead be seeking to make a move for Haaland, who has excelled for the Bundesliga side ever since his move away from RB Salzburg.
33 goals in 32 outings in the Dortmund colours means that Haaland presents himself as a viable big-money option for a number of clubs across Europe as Manchester United aim to leapfrog other interested parties to bring the 20-year-old starlet to England.
Sancho’s drastic downward spiral in form has convinced United to eye other attacking options, with Haaland’s name doing the rounds once again, with the January transfer window commencing just days before.
The Red Devils have been brilliant of late in Premier League action, going joint top with league leaders Liverpool in the aftermath of their 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday evening.
