Everton remain hopeful of landing Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani in the near future despite Cavani staying put at Old Trafford beyond this summer’s transfer window.
The arrival of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United in perhaps the most high-profile move in the window had given birth to talk of Cavani seeking a transfer elsewhere as he found his first-team role under great threat.
Cavani, however, ended up being retained by Manchester United with the Uruguayan international striker himself expressing his desire to play out the season with Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side who are backed to compete for the top-flight crown.
Reports from Todo Fichajes have backed Everton to be involved in the chase for Cavani’s signature with the 36-year-old, who snubbed interest from the Merseysiders this summer in the latter stages of the transfer window, expected to fall down the pecking order following Ronaldo’s return.

The likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial are also at the disposal of Solskajer meaning chances on the starting team sheet could begin to dry out for the veteran figure in Cavani with Everton on alert to the situation.
