The match between Manchester United and Everton has produced some vintage matches in Premier League history. Both sides will be ready to face each other again as the Red Devils travel to play against the Toffees on Sunday.
Everton appears to have improved this season despite having a rather rough start under Frank Lampard. The team appears to be playing in harmony, and they have steadily begun to move up the league table with recent victories.
The Toffees were rooted to the bottom of the standings after losing their opening two games to Chelsea and Aston Villa. However, they have subsequently gone over a month without losing, despite drawing four of their last six games.
They are in a positive frame of mind as they get ready to host the Red Devils after winning their last two games against West Ham United and Southampton.
Whereas for Manchester United, manager Erik ten Hag will be preparing his team to get past the horrors of the 6-3 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City last week. The Red Devils did earn a hard-fought victory against Omonia Nicosia last night but were largely disappointing in the first half.
However, the team improved significantly in the second half against the Europa League opponents, and ten Hag will aim to build on that as they enter a busy schedule of games.
Team News: Everton vs Manchester United
For Everton, Nathan Patterson will be out for up to five weeks following an ankle injury received while playing for his national side.
In recent weeks, Mason Holgate, Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina, and Andros Townsend have all been ruled out, although Jordan Pickford made his comeback against Southampton and might start again.
Whereas for Manchester United, Harry Maguire injured his hamstring and hasn’t been with the team for the past two matchdays as a result.
On Sunday he’s anticipated to be out yet again. Victor Lindelof could start in Raphael Varane’s place against Everton after the French centre-back was injured and forced to be replaced in the loss to Manchester City. Varane also missed the win against Omonia and will undergo a late fitness test.

Anthony Martial made a strong comeback against the Citizens, scoring twice, and after another strong showing on Thursday, will likely start up front.
With a full schedule of games coming up, the gaffer could change up his starting lineup, with Casemiro likely to replace Scott McTominay after the Brazilian put up a strong performance against Omonia.
Our Key Player: Anthony Martial
The French striker was in fine form against Omonia Nicosia as he scored the team’s second goal through an impactful substitute appearance. Since, returning from injury this weekend, the 26-year-old has scored three goals in less than 90 minutes of play.
His brace against Manchester City did help the club in putting some respect to the scoreboard and he would be again ready to pounce on Everton defenders on Sunday. Erik ten Hag will be tempted to start Martial alongside Marcus Rashford and Antony after witnessing their strong combination down the flank.
The French striker would be aiming to regain his best form and win his spot in the starting XI as the club enters a busy stretch of games.
Our Prediction: Everton vs Manchester United
As both teams have strong defensive fronts, this game has the makings of being low-scoring. Manchester United has recently ramped up by scoring three goals in back-to-back English Premier League games, whereas Everton has failed to score many goals this season and is near the bottom of the standings with seven goals to their name.
