Everton vs Manchester United: Player Ratings

Manchester United took on Everton at Goodison Park yesterday, aiming for all three points and a chance to finish in the top four.

The Red Devils got off to a shaky start, conceding the game’s first goal in the 27th minute when Anthony Gordon scored through a deflected shot. Manchester United was unable to respond and headed into the halftime break with a goal down.

United missed a lot of chances and never dominated the Toffees who were looking quite comfortable on the ball. Our second-half performance was not up to the standards and it all ended with a 1-0 scoreline at the full-time whistle.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player performed against Everton.

David de Gea (GK) – 6/10

The Spanish goalkeeper made a few solid saves but was unable to stop Anthony Gordon’s deflected shot.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)– 7.5/10

He did a fantastic job on the defensive end of the field and made some good runs down the right flank.

Victor Lindelof (CB) – 6.5/10

During the game, Lindelof made a few crucial clearances and won a number of aerial duels for his team. Still, he didn’t have luck on his side as they were unable to maintain a clean sheet.

Harry Maguire (CB) – 6.5/10

He was certainly dominating the match until the goal in the first half. Strong aerially and made some crucial clearances.

Alex Telles (LB) – 6/10

Telles was shaky at times on defense, but he did manage to produce two good chances while attacking.

Fred (CM) – 6/10

The Brazilian international struggled to establish himself in the game and was replaced in the 35th minute after being injured. Not a good night for the defensive midfielder.

Nemanja Matic (CM) – 6/10

Matic had two key interceptions, but he was too late to respond to the danger in his own half. He was also substituted in the 60th minute as the team searched for an equalizer.

Jadon Sancho(RW) – 6/10

He created a couple of decent chances for his teammates, but he couldn’t threaten the Everton defenders much.

Bruno Fernandes (CAM)– 6.5/10

The Portuguese playmaker was always seeking ways to open up space for his teammates, but he never seemed to have a goal in him. Lacked clear support from his teammates.

Marcus Rashford (LW) – 6/10

In the first half, he had two good chances but failed to take either. After the half-time break, he was very quiet while attacking.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST)- 6/10

Ronaldo had a few brilliant moments, but he didn’t do enough to score. His frustration was clearly evident at full-time as he broke a phone.

Substitutes:

Paul Pogba (CM) – 6.5/10

Pogba showed moments of brilliance but was unable to score a goal.

Juan Mata (CAM) – 6/10

He struggled to bring anything new to the already slow midfield.

Anthony Elanga (LW) – 6/10

Came on late to provide anything special.
