According to the Mirror, former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann has described Harry Maguire as a strong mustang and has compared the star defender to former Brazillian center-back.
Harry Maguire has been fighting his own war against Injuries. He was one of the most consistent performers for Manchester United and had also set a record for playing 71 Premier League games in succession without getting injured.
His presence was a huge factor for United but ultimately he was injured against Aston Villa. His injury proved to be a very costly one as United was defeated by Villarreal in the Europa League finals and his absence was felt by everyone. The role of a leader, a captain and a commander was missing in the squad.
It looked unlikely the Maguire will recover on time for the Euros. But England manager Gareth Southgate believed that he could recover soon and included him in the squad.
Maguire returned the favor back and recovered on time to be included as a substitute against Scotland. He then started the match against the Czech Republic and was so impressive. Klinsmann was quick to notice the impact of Maguire and hailed the player and other England players as well.
He said: “You have Raheem Sterling, and you have Mason Mount. You have now Saka who played a good game against the Czech Republic. You have Phil Foden, who I really adore, I thought he had a brilliant year with Man City. You have Harry Maguire, who kind of frightens everybody when this guy rolls through midfield. He reminds me a bit of Lucio, the Brazilian center-back, he looks like a Mustang running through everybody.”
Klinsmann admits that everybody is frightened by Harry Maguire ahead of Germany’s fixture against England in the last-16 clash of Euro 2020.
