Ex-United player urges the club to sign Cavani

Manchester United FC are reportedly in the lookout of a centre-forward after the club failed to take its chances in its last two games. The Red Devils haven’t made any marquee signing this summer transfer window yet, which has been a reason for much disgust in the fan base. Lately, former United striker, Luis Saha has suggested that the Red Devils should sign Cavani for a free.

Edinson Cavani has seen his contract run out at PSG and is available on a free this summer. Cavani is one of the best strikers on his day and his experience might help United. Luis Saha has suggested Ed Woodward to sign Cavani, as he is available for free and would add to United’s attacking department.

The Uruguayan was linked to Benfica for most of the summer, but a move didn’t materialize because of his wage demands. The 33-year old striker earned £360,000-a week at PSG and Benfica offered him only about £175,000-a week. Cavani could be a great backup at United but looking at his wage expectations it is unlikely for United to sign him.

The Red Devils have barely done any transfer activity this summer, and with 19 days to go for the league to start, Woodward needs to do things quickly.
