According to Calcimercato, Napoli star, Fabian Ruiz may possibly be acquired by Manchester United in the summer transfer window for a relatively cheaper price.
The 26-year-old United target might be sold for just €25 million and that would be a great move from the board. There have been no official bids, but the price would lure the Red Devils into making a move if in case they fail to land De Jong.
Since Paul Pogba left on a free transfer, Erik ten Hag urgently needs to add fresh legs to his central midfield zone before the window closes. It was known that Frenkie de Jong and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are two of the top targets.
However, it is clear that both of those agreements are giving United trouble. Erik ten Hag has the opportunity to sign a star player for a lot less money than it would cost to sign their other targets.
Surprisingly, the midfielder has also been compared to Barcelona legend Xavi due to his style of play. While he may not be on the legendary midfielder’s level, he could share some of his characteristics.
He is capable of playing either a deep-lying role or a traditional central midfield position. He is even capable of playing more forward in an attacking role as he scored seven goals and provided five assists for Napoli last season.
The Spanish maestro averaged 68 passes per game in 32 Serie A games for Napoli last season, with a tremendously excellent completion rate of 90 percent. At Old Trafford, he would be a potent addition to ten Hag’s squad, however, the club would need to move swiftly in order to escape the race to sign him.
