Former legendary Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro believes Paul Pogba will be of no use to the Italian club unless his performances improve.
The French midfielder’s contract with Manchester United has expired, and he is expected to rejoin Juventus on a free transfer.
Pogba was previously supposed to be a target for a number of big clubs, but it appears that only Juventus is serious about signing him this summer. Even Real Madrid has not moved out his way.
Pogba has already stated that he will leave United this summer, and there aren’t many United fans who are upset about it. It speaks a lot about their relationship with the World Cup-winning player over the last six years, and it didn’t end well.
Juventus is said to be in talks with Pogba’s representatives, although Cannavaro has warned that the midfielder has underperformed in England. Cannavaro knows he must be at his best to help Juventus, and the 29-year-old has the indisputable talent to perform much better.
According to Tuttomercato, the former 2006 World Cup winner said La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“Pogba to Juve? I hope to see the real Paul again, the one from the first Juventus experience. He has to find the reasons. The midfielder of recent seasons is of no use to Juventus or France.”
Paul Pogba’s six-year stay at United brought him just three trophies and his constant underwhelming performances had been criticized by many.
He had been excellent for France but even Deschamps would think twice before bringing him back into the starting XI. The 29-year-old is still in his prime years and Max Allegri will be facing a tough job in bringing back his old form.
