Fabrizio Romano while speaking to The United Stand revealed that Manchester United is highly interested in signing Saul Niguez. They have been in close contact with his agent over the past few weeks.
He said: “Manchester United are among the clubs that have been in contact with Saul Niguez’s agent. They have an interest in the player and consider him ‘one of the biggest opportunities on the market. €40-45m (£34m-£38m) will get a deal done, no bid yet.”
Manchester United has been on a hunt for a new midfielder this summer. Paul Pogba’s future is in doubt and United has already decided to get a new midfielder and stop depending on the French midfielder.
Saul Niguez is available for £40m and that is a bargain considering that the 26-year-old is already playing in his prime years and has a lot to offer. His contract will expire in June 2026 but still, Atletico Madrid is ready to offer their star midfielder for cheap as they want to ease their financial burden.

He has over 330+ appearances for the Spanish side. He also won the La Liga trophy last year and has been a consistent player for Diego Simeone’s side. He has also scored 62 goals.
Currently, Manchester United has been busy completing the Raphael Varane deal. The probability of signing a new midfielder depends on how fast United completes the signing of Varane and sells some of their own players to collect funds.
