Renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed Manchester United’s next plan after signing Raphael Varane. If you think that United is done after signing Varane, then you are so wrong to think like that.
Manchester United has been extremely busy after the completion of Euros. Deals for Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were agreed upon within a week. But still United wants to sign at least one more player before the end of this year’s transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano while speaking on his Here We Go Podcasts, said: “Now they will go potentially for a right-back, and let’s see what happens with Diogo Dalot if he will be leaving the club to join AC Milan or not – no agreement reached yet.”
“And for the midfielder, I wanted to clarify for Manchester United. For the midfielder, it will be an opportunity. I see a lot of questions – Goretzka, Saul, Camavinga – they are there for these players but it’s not a priority now. The priority is to complete the Varane deal and then to go for a midfielder.”
Ed Woodward and John Murtough have been pretty quick in getting all their targets this summer. They will be few outgoings as well but an incoming player is also on the cards.
Manchester United needs to sign a defensive midfielder and an optional right-back, but a new defensive midfielder is most likely to be signed this summer.
Eduardo Camavinga and Leon Goretzka, both have been linked to a move to Manchester United and the club may make a move after they complete the deal for Raphael Varane.
Talking about a right-back, Kieran Trippier has been targeted by United. If Dalot stays at the club then United may sacrifice their chance to sign Trippier.
The coming few weeks will be very crucial for Manchester United.
