Marcus Rashford was booed by Manchester United fans during their FA Cup third-round match against Aston Villa, with the attacker appearing ‘disappointed’ during the game at Old Trafford.
On Monday evening, Ralf Rangnick’s side beat Aston Villa in a FA Cup match, with Scott McTominay scoring the winning goal after just eight minutes.
However, when United had a chance to end the game in the second half, Rashford appeared to pass up on a fantastic opportunity on the break. Rashford came up to help Greenwood as he was passed through on goal, with Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez the final man to beat.

Greenwood chose to shoot instead of ignoring Rashford, and his shot was spilled by the Argentine. Fans were enraged when Rashford appeared to refuse to take advantage of the situation, enabling Martinez to calmly gather the ball.
The fans were left frustrated by Rashford’s unacceptable body language and a poor run of form. Here are some of the fan’s reactions after the match.

How on earth is Marcus Rashford still on this pitch. Every single person watching the match can see he’s struggling beyond belief. Rangnick must be seeing something different.. #MUFC #MUNAVL #Rashford

See how hungry Elanga and Lingard were when they came on? Players like that should be starting. How Rashford lasted so long again is baffling. Hopefully beat these again on Saturday, but we'll need to play better than that 💩 #Rashford #MUNAVL

Someone needs to put an arm around Marcus Rashford in that changing room.
This is clearly the most difficult spell of his career… the EUROs, the surgery, the lack of form.
He needs support now, but who provides it? 🤷🏼♂️

Shortly after, Rashford was replaced, prompting some mocking cheers from the home crowd. The 24-year-old appears to be lacking in confidence right now.
On his best days, he’s nearly unplayable, but he’s not generating anywhere near his potential. Hopefully, he’ll be able to get back into the swing of things soon and perform at his best.
In the fourth round, United will host Middlesbrough at Old Trafford. The game will take place on the 5th or 6th of February.
