FC Barcelona rejects Mino Raiola’s offer to sign Paul Pogba

FC Barcelona has turned down a proposal for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, who was offered the contract in a meeting this weekend by the player’s agent.

The French midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola met with Barça president Joan Laporta over the weekend, and one of the names discussed was Pogba, whose United contract expires in June, as reported here yesterday. This means that international clubs can establish a pre-contract agreement with the player starting January 1st.

Raiola, a former pizza chef, has been quick to act on behalf of his client, meeting with Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved on Monday.

Despite the fact that he is available for free, Barcelona will not pursue a move for the Frenchman, according to Spanish publication Sport, since new boss Xavi believes he will not fit in with his style of play.

It’s getting to the point where Pogba and Raiola are embarrassed by the situation. Despite the fact that he is available for free, the number of clubs interested in him is decreasing.

Juve is still interested, but his salaries are a stumbling block. With no English clubs interested, Raiola ruling out Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid ruling themselves out, there aren’t many other possibilities.

Paris Saint Germain’s interest in Paul Pogba seems to be conflicting. United is rumoured to have tabled a contract renewal offer.
