Fernandes: We are disappointed as fans didn’t get a good result

Manchester United was unable to overcome a spirited Fulham team as they secured just one point from the match.

Fulham was able to score a late header to seal the draw. Manchester United was expected to push ahead and win against the relegated Fulham who was already weak in form.

Cavani scored a wonderful long-range goal to give United the lead. But then Fulham got a goal through a Joe Bryan header due to United’s shambolic defense.

Manchester United welcomed their fans back to Old Trafford after two months. 10,000 fans were present at Old Trafford as United went head to head against Fulham. Fan’s voice and their chants had uplifted the atmosphere around Old Trafford. It was a joy to watch them back.

While speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “Really good. It’s really good to have the fans back. We know how important they are for us and honestly, everyone is disappointed not to give better a result to them. The performance was good, not enough but anyway we tried to do our best to get a better result for them but today it was not possible. Yeah, we had many chances to do it, that was the point. We could do it but it was that kind of game where you don’t score and the ball doesn’t go in and you end up conceding a goal. Well played by Fulham. I think it was a little bit waste of time for them from the beginning of the game, our thinking was that the game would be more open today as they were already relegated.”

They will hope to bounce back against the Wolves for their final Premier League game of this season.
