Jesse Lingard has been in phenomenal form for West Ham United. He has already scored nine goals and has contributed with a further four assists for Hammers.
Lingard joined West Ham on loan from United in the month of January 2021 and in the span of four months he has already helped his team compete for the top four spots in this season’s Premier League. His contract will run until May 31 of this year and it seems that West Ham will make this deal permanent.
Bruno Fernandes has seen Lingard and his development. He knows that he has got his confidence back as a player. Lingard was in terrible circumstances when he had issues related to his family and he was low in confidence. But looking at him now, we can see that he has that confidence back in him and he has shown that on the pitch.
While talking to MUTV, he said: “If you see Jesse, I think Jesse, at the moment, if you watch the last 10 games, has been top, top, top-level. For me, if you watch the last 10 games, he’s been the best player in the Premier League, scoring and assists in every game. Everyone here is really, really happy for him. He has confidence back, he has his swag back because he is feeling confident. We are really, really happy for what he’s doing.”
West Ham will surely move for his signature. His deal will likely cost them £40m as United will not sell him for cheap. Even the Hammers will be programmed to buy the player as he can be crucial for them for many seasons.
