Feyenoord keeping an eye on Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong

As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester United winger Tahith Chong has reportedly become a transfer target for Feyenoord this summer.

Chong departed the Dutch team for Manchester United at a fairly young age. The winger, who is one of Manchester United’s most promising young players, made his senior debut for the club in 2019. He has since made 16 first-team appearances, contributing two assists.

Before signing a season-long contract with Birmingham City last summer, Chong spent time on loan at Werder Bremen and Club Brugge during his time at Manchester United.

The United winger’s time with the EFL Championship team was not particularly fruitful because a significant injury ruined his campaign. The Dutchman played 19 times, contributing with one goal and three assists.

Chong is now back at Manchester United, where his future at Old Trafford is unclear. The 22-year-old winger is now far from being a first-team member for the 20-time English champions, despite the fact that all players will start with a clean slate under new manager Erik ten Hag.

In fact, Chong is positioned lower on the pecking order than Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Elanga, and Amad Diallo.

Additionally, Alejandro Garnacho will probably be handed a bigger part in the upcoming campaign, while Manchester United is also expected to sign Antony from AFC Ajax. It makes life challenging for Chong, who will be eager to play frequently.

Chong is also in the last year of his Manchester United contract. The club must decide whether to sell him this summer or keep him on contract and send him out on loan once more. And Feyenoord has come to light as a potential destination for the Netherlands international.

Tyrell Malacia, who will soon become the first player signed by Manchester United under Van Hag, was recently the subject of recent negotiations between the Dutch powerhouses and the Red Devils.

And with negotiations for Chong certain to start soon, the two clubs could once more be engaged. It will be interesting to watch whether the 22-year-old winger makes a return to his old team.
