As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Flamengo has lined up a move for former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of an exciting transfer window.
The Brazilian outfit would not find it easy to handle the striker’s wage demands and hence they are in talks with a reliable sponsor. This would help them in organizing an attractive financial package for the 37-year-old.
Ronaldo has come under the limelight in recent weeks due to his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. His exit was not surprising for the fans as it was expected that the club will take an action.
Both parties had been sharing a broken relationship from the time Ronaldo joined the club 18 months back. The Rio de Janeiro-based club doesn’t seem to be a realistic destination for Ronaldo. But the ugly truth is that every club will try to do everything in their power to lure the 37-year-old.
Last summer, a Saudi-based club offered an offer in excess of £100 million for the striker but Ronaldo preferred to stay and fight for his place rather than leave the club in between.
Clubs like Sporting CP and Inter Miami are also targeting the striker this January. At this moment, the star striker will prefer to choose a project that will suit him at this stage of his career.
