Conor Devlin currently plays for Larne in the Northern Irish Premiership and has previously played under ole Gunnar Solksjaer in the reserve team.
Conor Devlin started his career at Manchester United as a 16-year-old in 2008 with the reserve side where he got a chance to study and be in close proximity with ex-Manchester united player and legend Edwin van de Saar. He recounts the time when he was totally awestruck at being coached by the Manchester United legend as Ole had just finished his tenure as a player and it felt like an almost surreal moment to him.
As reported by sky sports Devlin believes that Ole had the nerve and steel to be a top manager right from the very start. Devlin has played with some great keepers like sam Johnstone and Ben Foster but Van De Saar had the biggest impression on him as a player.
At 29 he has played in the different age groups for Northern Ireland and has even won some call-ups to the first team international squad. Even though Devlin may not have played in any major European club he has established himself as a dependable player in Larne.
He had a big hand in giving Larne their first major trophy in 33 years as he saved two glorious penalties against Glentoran and won Larne the County Antrim Sheild.
Many people were sceptical about Ole Gunnar Solksjaer especially due to the inconsistent form that they have had in the last few seasons but many of the doubters are slowly turning to believers due to Manchester United’s sudden resurgence and hopefully, their faith will pay dividends.
