Former Manchester United midfielder and teammate, Ander Herrera has praised striker, Marcus Rashford for the impressive turn-around of his career. He has called him ‘the difference-maker in United’s attacking line-up.
The Spanish star joined La Liga outfit, Athletico Bilbao, after leaving PSG in 2019. However, it seems that the former player is still watching Rashford’s performances this season.
The English striker has been in fine form for Erik ten Hag’s side as he has scored five goals this season. His attacking display has been largely impressive even if he struggles to put it on a consistent basis. Herera believes that Rashford should be given credit for his inspiring turn-around but also stressed out on the unnecessary comparison with legends.
As reported by the Sun, the midfielder said:
“He makes a difference when he is fit and in a good moment and now he has the best teacher [Ronaldo] — We are not fair with Rashford. You cannot compare him with Messi and Cristiano.”
The 24-year-old was a dominant figure against Omonia Nicosia. But he was unable to score a goal even after registering 10 shots. Much credit goes to Omonoa goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, for blocking any goal-bounding shot hit by the striker.
However, the academy graduate needs to find his scoring boots against Newcastle United on Sunday. Rashford won’t be getting similar chances of exploiting the opponent’s defence game after game, so he needs to be more ruthless with his chances.
