Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United is 95% done confirms Gerard Romero

According to reliable journalists Gerard Romero, Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United is 95% done. Erik Ten Hag wants to reunite with the Dutch midfielder, who used to play under him at Ajax between 2016-2019.

Ten Hag knows that De Jong has the potential to play according to his game plan and could be a key player in midfield.

Because of the unstable squads in which Frenkie de Jong has played, it’s been difficult to appraise him since his arrival at Barcelona. Nonetheless, it looks like the Barcelona has taken the decision to let him leave for the right price.

After many rumours, it has been now revealed that finally De Jong is on his way out of Barcelona. He will be gone before the end of the league season.

The fee will most likely be between €70 and €80 million. Barcelona paid €86 million for the player in 2019, thus this would be another player they would lose money on.

However, considering the club’s financial problems, it’s a necessity for them to get some money through player sales. Hence, the decision to sell Frenkie de Jong was solely economical.

The Dutchman is a highly marketable asset who has yet to realise his full potential.  Barcelona’s midfield would still be bolstered by Gavi, Pedri, Sergio Busquets, and, Frank Kessie.

De Jong has started all three seasons he has been at the club, making 138 matches and contributing 13 goals and 17 assists under four different managers.

Even with the economic difficulties, this would be a poor solution for Barcelona. De Jong has shown a wide range of ability in his tenure at Camp Nou, playing a variety of roles. At 24, his finest years are almost certainly ahead of him.
