Fulham agree £10m deal to sign wantaway star Andreas Pereira

Fulham has agreed to sign wantaway Manchester United star Andreas Pereira this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two teams had an agreement on a £10 million deal last week, but the specifics have finally been worked out and a transfer is about to happen.

The Brazilian playmaker and the Cottagers have reached a personal agreement on a three-year contract with the possibility of a one-year extension. Fulham will pay Manchester United a transfer fee of £10 million plus an additional £3 million in add-ons.

Since joining Manchester United’s under-18 team from PSV Eindhoven in 2012, Pereira has been in and out of the club.

He progressed through the ranks to make his first-team debut in the 2014–15 campaign, although he was never able to establish himself as a regular starter for the Red Devils, spending the majority of his time with the Premier League’s top clubs on the outside of the first team.

He has had loan stints at Granada, Valencia, Lazio, and Flamengo; the latter is the most recent team to accept him on a short-term deal. The 26-year-old just returned to Manchester United after spending the 2021 and part of the 2022 campaigns with Flamengo.

The Brazilian team wanted to permanently sign Pereira but was unable to meet Manchester United’s asking price.

Additionally, Fulham and Crystal Palace were interested in signing him, but the youngster apparently preferred to go back to his own country.

But as it turned out, Fulham and the midfielder reached an agreement, and Pereira will join the team before the 2022–23 campaign. With freshly promoted Fulham, Pereira would gain far more valuable playing time than he would have at Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

The Brazilian playmaker appeared 75 times for the senior Red Devils team, contributing with five goals.
