Very few people or players have had as much of an impact on a team as Bruno Fernandes has had on Manchester United in recent times.
He has made his presence felt significant and put in performances on several occasions but one has also seen that Manchester United is becoming increasingly reliant on him and this fact came to haunt them in their semi-final defeat against bitter rivals Manchester City.
Gary Neville told Sky Sports, “I don’t think anybody could think one person would have the impact on this Manchester United team [he has].”
While it is a welcome sight that Bruno Fernandes brings with him a lot of hunger and determination, something which seems to have been lacking in the past few seasons as the Red Devils have failed to win any silverware in recent times.
The former right-backs sentiments are running through the veins of many football fans at the moment as an average performance from him in the semi-final Manchester derby saw them bow out of the semi-finals once again.
There is no denying that Bruno Fernandes is the catalyst in this Manchester United team but the real question is will they be able to perform when he is not around or is having an off day as every player is bound o have at one point or the other.
There seems to be a growing frustration within the supporters and the club at Manchester United’s inability to be consistent over a long period without relying too heavily on one player.
Ole is a Manchester United legend and no one can take that away from him but a club with Manchester United’s pedigree shouldn’t be reliant on just a few players performing while everyone puts in average performances.
