Graeme Souness criticises Harry Maguire after West Brom clash

Manchester United have been in a really difficult phase right now with a lot of inconsistent results even though they are in the top four at the moment.

Manchester United was sitting comfortably at the top of the table for a time and had managed to transform one of their worst starts to a season into one where they were sitting on the top of the table after a given moment.

Ever since their defeat to Sheffield United, they have struggled to maintain their form except in the 9-0 riot against Southampton.

They have been leaky at the back with mistakes cropping up every now and while Manchester United may not have suffered defeat a draw wasn’t the best possible result when it came to their position in the league as it further opened up the gap at the top.

Manchester United took time to get out of the blocks and were immediately hit within 90 seconds as their defences were found wanting in the first 90 seconds of the game.

The Red Devils came back into the game just before the half could end as Bruno Fernandes scored a fabulous chance out of thin air.

“This is such a bad result for Man United,” Souness told Sky Sports.

The former player emphasised the fact that Manchester United was really weak in the game and that West Brom could have easily won the match if only they had to convert some of the chances that they had.

He also highlighted the fact that Manchester United should not have found West Brom as a tough fixture and completely berated Harry Maguire and his post-match presentation talk as he felt that his penalty appeal was a soft one.
