Greenwood and Foden dropped from England squad for breaking rules

Manchester United FC starlet Mason Greenwood was fantastic last season, as he was United’s third-highest goalscorer in all competitions last season. The 18-year old scored 17 goals in all competitions last season and earned his first international call-up for the Nations League. It has now been reported by Icelandic website 433.is Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden brought a couple of women to the England hotel yesterday, breaking isolation rules.

Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden, both from Manchester, made their England senior debut a couple of days ago against Iceland. Both Foden and Greenwood have reportedly broken COVID-19 isolation rules in Iceland, by bringing a couple of women to their hotel rooms. Greenwood and Foden have been dropped off the England squad due to their activities and will not travel with the rest of the squad.

England manager Gareth Southgate, on this incident, said: “Unfortunately this morning it was brought to my attention that the two boys have broken the COVID guidelines in terms of our secure bubble. They couldn’t have interaction with the rest of the team.”

The Three Lions manager also added that “I think at the moment I’m trying to take a lot of information in. Obviously they have been naive, we have dealt with it appropriately. I recognise their age, but the whole world is dealing with this pandemic.”

Manchester United will be gutted with what Greenwood has done but will be protective of their young starlet.
