Manchester United star Fred was an important player in their road to the final, beginning six of their seven games, with the only match being the last group game but by then Brazil had already been confirmed the top spot.
Angel Di Maria scored the lone goal at the 22nd minute for Argentina. Fred was subbed at half-time in the disheartening loss after seeing his side fail to break down a strong Argentina side drove by Lionel Messi, who won his first silverware with his country on an international level. Argentina won the trophy after 28 years which is pretty astonishing.
Fred will need a three-week-long vacation prior to joining Manchester United’s pre-season arrangements however the 28-year-old is probably not going to be accessible for the first Premier League match against Leeds United.
