It is a tough skill to pursue tackling. One cannot dive in timely slides or make a hefty save, with a fear of being booked.
And when it is Eden Hazard in opposition, the tackling difficulty exponentially rises.
What could Mourinho really do to stop Hazard?
There is certainly no stop to the rising Belgian but if Mourinho wants he can replay what Ferguson did to Messi in Champions League.
Sir Alex Ferguson, not known for his man-marking had to adept this strategy for the benefit of United.
He knew the only way United could win was by keeping Messi off the ball and to do that he had to mark him with a man.
Wes Brown in a recent interview revealed what he was told by Alex Ferguson when they were going to face Barcelona.
“The less that Messi had of the ball, the more chance we had. I wouldn’t say that Hazard is Messi, but he’s started this season really well and he’s one of the top players in the Premier League. He is a clear and obvious threat.”
Hazard may not be Messi but is no less in his top touch. And right now Mourinho, Hazard has to be stopped.
