I Like Haaland Says Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed his admiration for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland amid strong links to signing the young Norwegian in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are believed to be among the frontrunners for the 19-year-old’s signature thanks to Solskjaer’s relationship with the player he coached during the duo’s time at Molde.

Reports also claim that Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, visited the Premier League club’s training ground, Carrington, last month and the Red half of Manchester is known to be in the market for attacking reinforcements following the departures of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have also been holding talks with Haaland and United likewise appear to be plotting a January bid in a race with Dortmund to sign the teenage wunderkind

Having impressed in the Champions League this term, Halland has attracted interest from several top European suitors and the big center-forward is likely to make a move away from the Austrian outfit in the winter transfer window.

But Solskjaer has indicated that he is prepared to make a move for Haaland as the forward is a player that the 46-year-old seems to be fond of. Following the League Cup win over Colchester United, the Norwegian spoke of his national compatriot and claimed, “He’s a player I like, we are looking for good players all the time and Erling has had a nice development. He has to develop where he decides [to move]. I don’t need to talk about him that much, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have. We’ll see what we end up with.”
