Manchester United have expressed their interest in signing Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana during the ongoing summer transfer window.
According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Serie A giants are seeking €60 million for their talented goalkeeper. However, Inter may consider a bid of around €45-48 million from United if it includes an additional €10-12 million in easily attainable bonuses.
Meanwhile, David De Gea has not yet agreed to extend his current contract and could potentially become a free agent by the end of this week.
Recent reports revealed that the Spaniard had initially signed a contract extension with United, but the club later withdrew their initial proposal. The revised contract involved a reduction in De Gea’s salary.

Despite offering another contract to the 32-year-old, United proposed an even lower salary, which the goalkeeper declined to accept.
Last season, the Red Devils encountered difficulties in playing out from the back due to De Gea’s poor distribution skills. However, Onana would present a significant upgrade. The 27-year-old goalkeeper possesses great confidence in his ball distribution skills.
Onana excels as a sweeper-keeper, frequently venturing out of his box to fulfil defensive duties. He adeptly intercepts crosses and can initiate swift counter-attacks for United with his precise passing abilities.
The former Ajax keeper and Erik ten Hag have enjoyed a good relationship for more than four years during their time in the Netherlands. As a result, Ten Hag would welcome the presence of a familiar face in goal for the upcoming season.
Onana’s notable composure at the back, as demonstrated in the Champions League final against Manchester City, would be a valuable asset.

Considering the current inflated transfer market, the keeper’s €60 million price tag is not exorbitant. Therefore, United should prioritize their efforts in swiftly securing his services for Old Trafford in the upcoming summer transfer window.
