Chris Smalling has lately been in the news for all the right reasons after the return from his stint with AS Roma. Smalling was sent to AS Roma on-loan at the beginning of the season where he has rejuvenated his career, becoming one of the best defenders in Serie-A. After his return, the centre-back has attracted a lot of attention from Italy, with Inter Milan now keen on signing him.
The 30-year old centre-back was a lost cause at Manchester United but has found his feet in Italy. In his only season in Italy, Smalling has adjusted brilliantly well and was a mainstay at the back for Roma. The former United captain has played in 30 games in the Serie-A this season, which is a testimony to his quality.
Inter Milan are reportedly interested to get the services of Chris Smalling and value his at about £20m. Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to use Chris Smalling in his three-man defence system because of the Englishman’s experience and reading of the game. Sighting his success in Serie-A, Inter are determined to get Smalling to bolster their defensive department.
The Red Devils would love to sell Chris Smalling and get a good amount of money from his sale to get recruits this summer.
