Inter Milan keen on signing Paul Pogba, but can they afford him?

Inter Milan legend Giuseppe Bergomi has urged the Nerazzurri to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Pogba has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford with LaLiga heavyweights and Real Madrid and former side Juventus among the chief suitors for his signature.

Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte has already worked with Pogba previously at Turin and done some shrewd business with Premier League clubs since returning to Italy, bringing Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Christian Eriksen and Ashley Young to the San Siro, while Victor Moses cut short his loan spell at Fenerbahce to link up with his ex-Chelsea manager as well.

Serie A champion Bergomi thinks Pogba would fit the profile for the kind of talent the club ought to be targeting over the next few transfer windows. The 56-year-old former Italian defender believes that Inter Milan would receive a massive boost in their midfield if the World Cup-winning Pogba signs for Inter Milan. However, one issue for the Italian side is that the 27-year-old Pogba would not come for cheap if he is to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

While speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bergomi explained that Inter Milan should monitor Pogba’s situation at Manchester United if they can afford his services. “If you have the economic strength to go and get him, you have to do it immediately, It’s true that he hasn’t been at his best in recent seasons, but he would return to a football he knows well. “

More so, Pogba has already spent four seasons in the Serie A with Juventus and is should be able to adapt well to his surroundings, “He doesn’t need to adapt and could immediately leave a mark. Beyond his technical abilities, with the physique he has, he would still be dominant in Serie A. There are few players like him around. Pogba is 27 and would return to Italy in time for his last leap in quality.”

Pogba has kept fans at home entertained with skill challenges:
