Istanbul Basaksehir vs Manchester United Preview | UCL 2020-21

After a poor performance in the Premier League against Arsenal, Manchester United travel to Istanbul for their third group game in the Champions League. The Red Devils will look to get their third victory in a row, which will see them favourites to come out of the group. Solskjaer and his men will look to get back to winning ways after a loss at home to arch-rivals Arsenal.

Manchester United will be favourites to win against minnows Istanbul Basaksehir, especially looking at their run of form in the Champions League. It is expected of Solskjaer to chop and change things as the fringe players may be given a chance. Donny Van de Beek will be expected to start especially, as the Dutchman has played well for the Red Devils so far.

Istanbul Basaksehir on the other hand, will on the other hand look to counter Manchester United’s tactics and are likely to sit deep and defend. Such a system has worked against Manchester United recently as the Red Devils fail to break low blocks. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be under pressure after the Arsenal loss as the Red Devils need to keep doing well in the Champions League.

TEAM NEWS –

Manchester United will be without Alex Telles, who is out after testing positive of the coronavirus. The rest of the squad should be fit and fine and in contention to start the game. Manchester United will be expected to win the game as the Red Devils are head and shoulders above their opposition.

The Red Devils should be the dominating force throughout the game with some important players expected to get a break. Istanbul have an almost-fully fit squad and will be happy to sit back, defend and hit on the counter-attack.
