Manchester United had a terrible transfer window which saw them lose transfer battles with most of their targets. The Red Devils didn’t sign even one of Solskjaer’s priority signings and the Sancho transfer saga was embarrassing, to say the least as United pulled out of a deal on deadline day. It is now being reported by ESPN that Manchester United still have a chance to sign Dortmund’s talisman next summer.
Manchester United spent the entire summer being linked to Jadon Sancho, who was reportedly Solskjaer’s priority this summer. The winger had agreed on personal terms but the Red Devils didn’t meet Dortmund’s demands which strengthened the German club’s position. But it has now been reported that all hope is not lost for United as they might try to sign Sancho next summer.
In his later interview, Dortmund’s CEO said: “They (Manchester United) misjudged the situation. We had a clear line and will continue to do so next summer. In this industry, you can never say that a player is completely unsellable.”
From the beginning of the summer, it was believed that Dortmund had set a price tag of £108m, but the United board thought the German club would decrease the valuation.
Sancho’s transfer saga revealed Manchester United board’s incompetence while handling transfers to the entire world. Even though there is an outside chance, but it is unlikely for Sancho to come to Old Trafford next summer.
