Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Manchester United needs a good manager to direct the team. He named a few of them and highlighted one manager’s name in particular.
Solskjaer suffered a huge backlash after United’s defeat against Leicester City. It has been now the second league defeat in three matches and with such a competitive squad on his disposal, the results that the manager is producing are just below par level.
Antonio Conte is the name that has been on the surface for months and many believe that he is the best candidate to take over the matters at Manchester United. But the solution doesn’t look so easy in reality.
Newcastle United who has been taken over by the Saudi-led consortium is also looking for a new manager after sacking Steve Bruce. With more than £300b at their disposal, they are looking to build a top-class squad whose base will start from signing a top-quality manager.
Antonio Conte will also be on their radar and this has brought some stiff competition for the former Inter Milan coach. However, Jamie Redknapp feels that Conte will be the perfect candidate to take the job at Old Trafford.
As reported by Daily Star, he said:
“You need the right man managing the team, he’s still going to be the most important man, he sets the tempo, he sets good examples, to find a good manager right now, there’s mooted about Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Antonio Conte, Conte maybe has one eye on what’s going on at Man United.”
Antonio Conte will certainly look for a high-profile job and also the one that fits his demands. He left Inter Milan for a similar reason, as they were unable to hold on to their star players and rather preferred to part ways with their manager.
If in case he desires to choose Newcastle United then the former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will be the next highly preferred target.
