Jesse Lingard closing in on a cut-price exit from Old Trafford in January

Jesse Lingard is suggested to be closing in on a cut-price exit from Old Trafford in January with the player keen to seal a move elsewhere despite being retained by Manchester United beyond this summer.

The England international playmaker had been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United in the summer as The Hammers looked to land his signature on a permanent basis after last season’s inspiring loan stint from the player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, however, managed to turn down West Ham’s interest in prizing away Lingard with the attacker promised a greater share of first-team involvement across the 2021-22 campaign.

Reports from Claret and Hugh ( via TeamTalk), meanwhile, claim that Lingard has rejected United’s wage offer of a £150-000-per-week and is keen on leaving Old Trafford with the club being forced to sanction his potential sale for just £10 million.

Manchester United are also understood to be concerned about losing out on Lingard for free next summer and would rather offload him in the forthcoming January window for a cut-price fee.
