As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has successfully passed his medical with Nottingham Forest.
After his contract with Manchester United expired, Lingard had decided to leave the team in search of game time. With the exception of a few loan stints, the England international played his whole career at his childhood club.
His most recent loan came to West Ham, where he showed that despite struggling for playing time at Manchester United, he is still capable of competing in the Premier League. The London club reportedly wanted to sign him this summer, but Nottingham Forest is close to a deal worth around £200,000 per week.
The 29-year-old has completed his medical tests at the newly promoted club, and his transfer is anticipated to be finalized soon. Jesse Lingard’s wage package is yet to be disclosed as he would be unveiled soon.
Nottingham Forest would prefer to keep it a secret as there are many players in their club who are on a lesser feel. They fear that it may damage the harmony of the squad.
All of this won’t matter, though, if Lingard succeeds right away and helps Forest put up a strong performance in the Premier League.
The newly promoted side has been looking busy in the transfer window and with the midfielder’s signing, they have made themselves much stronger.
