Jesse Lingard Out Of England Squad Following Illness

According to the latest reports, Manchester United midfielder, Jesse Lingard has pulled out of the England squad at the international break to return home following an illness.

The English midfielder was not named in the national team squad for Saturday’s visit of Bulgaria, with the Three Lions confirming soon after that he will return to Manchester United to recover from his illness and not feature for England by returning to the squad.

Lingard has endured a difficult start to the new Premier League season with his club as United have managed just five points out of a possible 12 in four Premier League games so far giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a lot to think about.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has failed to make an impact on the Red Devils’ opening three games before being dropped to the substitutes’ bench for the draw with 10-man Southampton at St Mary’s last weekend.

There has been no timescale provided which will mark Lingard’s return, but for the sake of his club, United fans will hope that he is fit for the Premier League clash against Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City next Saturday at Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford were named in the starting eleven for the game against Bulgaria by Gareth Southgate and fingers crossed they will return to Manchester United without any injury.
