According to the club’s official website, Manchester United centre-back Jonny Evans celebrated his 200th appearance for the club with an impressive display in their away match against Burnley.
His unexpected inclusion in the starting lineup came as a result of Lisandro Martinez’s unfortunate injury at Turf Moor.
Some fans expressed surprise at Evans starting instead of Raphael Varane, but the Northern Irish defender justified his selection.
He scored an impressive header that was disallowed due to offside interference by Rasmus Hojlund. Nonetheless, just before halftime, Evans delivered a perfectly executed long pass with his left foot, setting up Bruno Fernandes for a stunning volleyed goal.
