Watford striker Josh King has revealed the secret of the win against Man United. He claimed that they mastered the tactics by looking at the Liverpool game.
Watford comfortably defeated Manchester United by a 4-1 scoreline as Josh King played a crucial role in their thumping win. He scored the first goal and he along with Watford attackers were able to disturb the unstable United backline.
While revealing the secret of the win, he also credited their manager Claudio Ranieri for making them watch the clips of United’s loss against Liverpool.
While speaking to Watford’s official website, Josh King said:
“I felt [the win] was deserved. We knew we had to start very aggressively. Before the game, the manager showed us a lot of clips from the Liverpool game and how they pressed their backline. We did that exceptionally today. I think [the] first half was better than the second half in terms of pressing but at the end of it they tried to go for it, and we punished them with two goals.”
The loss against Watford was their biggest defeat against the Hornets. The game certainly had a big impact on the team and its management as Manchester United’s board decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The club also suffered its fourth defeat in five league games and is lingering at seventh place in the table. Michael Carrick will be taking over as the interim manager is signed.
Meanwhile, for Watford, the win against Manchester United will certainly boost their confidence. Claudio Ranieri has certainly started to apply his smart tactical moves in the young minds of his Watford players.
