Juan Mata is one of Manchester United’s most experienced players and is one of the most decorated players in the current squad. The Spanish midfielder has done very well for Red Devils in cup competitions and was also September’s Player of the Month for United. It has now been reported by Ian McGary in the Transfer Podcast Window that Mata has received a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
Manchester United failed to sell most of the deadwood this summer transfer window as the club only sold Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling. Juan Mata is in the twilight of his career and his value will only decrease in the transfer market. Manchester United could have sold Mata this summer but decided that his experience and ability in the ball will help the squad.
It has now been reported that Juan Mata has received a lucrative deal from Saudi Arabia worth around $15m net per year. Though McGary didn’t state the name of the club he said there have been no official talks between the clubs. Mata might force a move out of Manchester United if the reports are to be true, as it will a huge paycheck.
Manchester United should be in a position to sell Juan Mata which will not change the dynamics of the squad.
