Former Manchester United and Chelsea player Juan Mata has been offered a contract by Serie A side Lazio. Mata joined Manchester United in January 2014 and stayed till this summer.
Mata’s United contract expired at the end of May, and he is now free to join any team. According to Tuttomercato, the Spaniard’s representatives have offered the player’s services to Lazio in the last few hours.
While Lazio has received the request, Maurizio Sarri is not interested in the offer because he is bringing in experience in the form of Dries Mertens and Francesco Caputo. Mata has been offered to a number of European clubs, including the Italian clubs.
Currently, the most relevant and concrete track is Saudi Arabia, where numerous clubs are willing to give a large wage package.
Juan Mata has received a mega offer of £8.5m per year to join Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal. A number of Premier League players for already playing for the Riyadh-based club.
Former Manchester United player Odion Ighalo and former West Brom player Matheus Pereira are currently playing for Al-Hilal.
Also, Turkish club Adana Demirspor has shown an interest in bringing Mata to Asia. The midfielder hasn’t spoken about his future as of now, and it would be interesting to see where he would like to see his future.
