Jude Bellingham not keen on joining Manchester United FC

Rumours suggest that Manchester United FC target Jude Bellingham may turn down a move to Old Trafford. Such an event may occur due to the 16-year old having already given his nod to sign for Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham, who plays for Championship outfit Birmingham City, is touted to be one of the brightest English talents.

Recent reports state that Bellingham and his father had committed to joining Dortmund before the suspension of global football due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Championship player had made such a decision because joining  the Bundesliga side seemed more favourable to him.

Dortmund had signed Jadon Sancho in similar circumstances a few years back. Sancho, who was then playing for Manchester City FC, became a key player for Dortmund very soon. Now, the 20-year old English international is one of the best players in the Bundesliga.

Bellingham is reportedly keen on emulating the approach taken by Sancho in his career. Rather than joining Manchester United FC, the 16-year old desires of playing in the Dortmund colours. Further in his career, the player may play in the Premier League, however, not at present.

The Red Devils have been known to be the most favourite candidates for Bellingham’s signature. The player has excelled for Birmingham City this season in the Championship. Moreover, his ability on the ball has made many teams make note of him. Bellingham has scored four goals in the 30 appearances he has made for the Blues in the 2019-20 campaign.

The Championship, however, won’t be able to retain their player at the club despite their intentions to do so. The 16 year old has the option of leaving on a free transfer upon the expiry of his amateur contract with the Championship side.

Such an event won’t be desirable for Birmingham City, who wish to ease their financial troubles with significant funds from Bellingham’s sale. They will reportedly accept a bid in the region of €20 million for their midfield prospect.
