Jurgen Klopp has only good words to speak about Marcus Rashford

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is happy to see Marcus Rashford in the best shape of his life at Manchester United.

The 25-year-old will be a big threat when United travel to Anfield on Sunday night for the highly anticipated North-West Derby. The English striker has scored a career-high 25 goals this season, including 14 in the Premier League. This is more than his previous best of 22 goals.

His most recent goal came in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday when United overcame Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley Stadium to break their six-year trophy drought.

Klopp has praised the hot-shot forward’s all-around ability and admits that he is “performing very well” for the Red Devils. As reported by the Mirror, he said:

“It’s impossible to be positive about something at Manchester United when you are Liverpool manager, but I am happy for Rashford. He is playing incredibly. Speed, calm, a mix of everything.”

“It’s something you have to deal with. Of course, some players didn’t reach the level that has reached for us consistently. One of the best examples is Marcus Rashford, the season he had last year and this year.”

“I’m not sure he can even explain it. That’s how it goes. The time between these two extremes, you have to fight through it.”

A month after calling Rashford one of the “greatest examples” for his struggling Liverpool players to follow, Klopp praised the United academy graduate again.

The two rival clubs have had very different seasons. After winning two trophies in last year’s quadruple challenge, Liverpool has had a hard time this year. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have enjoyed a revival under Erik ten Hag and remain in the hunt for three additional trophies after their Carabao Cup victory.

The Sunday showdown will be crucial for both sides, as they will be aiming to have momentum on their side at this point of the season. More importantly for United, they are already battling in four major competitions this season.
