Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane is one of the best midfielders in the club’s Premier League history. He surely knows about a thing or two about playing in the midfield and winning titles at Manchester United. In his recent Sky Sports show, Keane said that the Red Devils have no chance of winning the league with the likes of Fred, McTominay and Matic playing in the midfield.
It was earlier reported that Keane had talked about Pogba, and why the midfielder isn’t starting for United lately. The Frenchman had a nightmare last night against Arsenal and proved why Keane was spot on about him. Keane is a vocal critic of Manchester United players, even from his playing days, as he one of the most passionate players in the club’s history.
In the pre-match talk show, he said: “Van de Beek has come into the club, and there’s nothing wrong with biding your time, but if you think Fred, McTominay and Matic in midfield will get Man United back to the heights of winning titles, then you’re living in cuckoo land.”
Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer need to do well consistently to have any chance of winning any trophy, let alone the Premier League title. The team is way too inconsistent and there is no leader on the pitch, especially in the midfield, to dictate the standards.
