Dan James remains a top name on the shopping list for Leeds United ahead of Tuesday’s deadline day with the Welshman rumoured to be transfer listed by Manchester United.
The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus could spell out a fall down the pecking order for James amid the talk of United wanting to ship out the player this summer on a loan basis.
Reports from The Athletic claim that Manchester United are in line to entertain offers for the former Swansea City winger and that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is keeping close tabs on James.
The 23-year-old had come very close to moving to Elland Road in January 2019 only for his medial to fall through at the last minute following which he had signed for Manchester United that summer and gone on to gain regular first-team football at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo’s arrival on the scene, however, threatens to disrupt James’ minutes on the pitch and the Wales international might be deemed surplus to requirements by boss Ole Gunnar Solskajer.
